A.V.M.S. Want to be part of a fun and exciting group that holds some of the best events in Del Webb and support our troops at the same time?? Well, if you said yes, then AVMS is for you. Each year we hold concerts, shows and great events like themed golf cart events, Pet parade and Holiday sing-alongs. These events along with your membership dues, all raise money for both Veterans and active-duty military in our area. In 2021 alone, we raised and donated almost $32,000. To military charity groups in the Suncoast region. You don’t have to be a veteran. You don’t even have to be actively involved in working our events (although we would love your support). All you need to do is join and have some fun with us. And… It’s easy!! Just stop by the Oasis Wi-Fi lounge and pickup an application. You can pay by cash, check or even online! And don’t forget, AVMS events sell our fast, and your membership gets you preferred ticket purchasing AND a discounted ticket price. What?? Upcoming Events – - Next scheduled meeting is April 11th – 630 PM – Activity Room #3 - Webb Fest – April 22 – Join us for the party of the season! Del Webb CERT On April 4 in Activity Room 3 at 1:00PM there will be a presentation from Manatee County Search & Rescue on Project Lifesaver , which is a program designed to protect and quickly locate individuals with cognitive disorders who are prone to the life-threatening behavior of wandering. Learn about this life-saving state-of-the-art program and have the opportunity to ask the search and rescue team questions. This important event is being sponsored jointly by CERT and Neighbors Helping Neighbors. Please join us for the next monthly CERT meeting on April 20 at 10AM in the card room next to the WiFi Cafe. This is a reminder that April 21 is the deadline to register and pay for our upcoming Ladies Luncheon on Tuesday, April 25. Please visit the RSVP Binder in the Wi-Fi Cafe for all the details and to sign up. This will be our last luncheon until the Fall. We will cut off the registration at our max capacity of 220. Lending Library at Del Webb Come and enjoy our free and convenient Lending Library in the Wi-Fi Café at the Oasis. It is operated by Del Webb volunteers and relies on your donations of gently used books. We greatly appreciate your book donations, but space is very limited and we can therefore accept fiction and history only . We regret that we cannot accept DVDs, cooking, travel or self-help books or books too large to fit on the shelves. Please place returned or donated books in the basket on the counter. Please do not place books on the shelves or in the cabinets. A library assistant will come by each day and shelve them in the correct place. Books are in alphabetical order by author’s last name. • Borrow as many books as you like, for as long as you like. Return them when ready or replace them with others. • Library assistants will continue to sort and donate books to local organizations as necessary in order to create space for more donations.
